Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

VZW is placing orders based on how many orders they get for the Incredible, that's what I was told at the VZW store anyway. I'm sure Best Buy is ordering so they have stock available for walk in customers.

I've never heard of a new phone having so many back orders though. Reading this thread multiplies the anticipation by 100, I'm addicted to it!
 
So i canceled my order today They told me it was going to ship on the 26th, hmmm I'm outta town that morning. lovely! I might have found 1 locally i can pick up. So tired of waiting for this phone.

Not true, they have moved the day twice. they moved it back, then moved it to the original. The CSR told me they keep changing the day for people in my region that ordered my day.
 
I really think VZW miscalculated the need for this phone and only based their decisions on what the Moto Droid did. They had too much inventory for the Moto Droid and couldn't get them sold. They apparently were not expecting this much of a desire for this phone.

I've heard that the EVO preorders already exceed the number of Incredibles sold and that Sprint has placed an enormous order for them.

Ordered mine on the 13th also. Everyone I talk to at VZW is sticking to the June 1st "ship by" date. At least they're being consistant.

Your CSR is wrong. No posted dates have been moved out. Some people have looked at the date and incorrectly advised that it would ship sooner based on their observation of previous orders.
 
So i was calling home to talk to my mom this morning and found out that the 1st of 4 incredibles have arrived at my house friday in OC...for my sister, gabby
who ordered May 7th i think

My little brother's will be here monday

which leaves my brother Devon who should be getting his later on in the week and mine which i should be getting shortly after memorial day.

On a slightly unrelated note, my Sister doesn't like her incredible aside from the camera. She hasn't been having good luck with android over the past few days. it's her first one.

Why is that? That was just the ship by date on the website when you ordered.

That doesn't mean it won't ship sooner, pretty much everyone elses have.

How did you order? In the store or online? I was told that it's impossible to cancel an order once it's in the system. Did they give you any problems when cancelling?
 
Hello Guys! I have been following this thread for the last week... since the day I ordered my Dinc from the local Verizon store. I also fell pray to the "out of stock" issue and was told my phone wouldn't ship until 6/8. After reading what some of you posted about checking out other locations like Best Buy, I decided to do the same. Well wouldn't you know... the Best Buy across the street from the Verizon store had one... yes, only one... phone left in stock. That was at 9:30pm last night... rofl. Talk about desperate!! Well, needless to say, I now have my phone and actually got it for $100 cheaper then at the verizon store due to the fact that Best Buy offered the rebate instantly. I know I ended up spending more in the short term, but once I receive the phone in the mail, I will be bringing it back to the store for a refund. Moral of the story... if you haven't got it, and have a while to wait for it... check out the local stores, especially Best Buy!! Thanks guys for giving me something to read while I waited.... and for giving me the idea to go to Best Buy and see what they had!

Btw... OMGWTFBBQ..... this phone is amazingly Incredible :p
 
Ordered my phone on 5/9 online through My Verizon- I was eligible for a upgrade.
After waiting a while, I finally emailed Verizon on Wed. 5/19 using the internetorders@verizonwireless.com email given with the order confirmation email. Now wether or not this did anything, I received an email back on Thursday 5/20 basically saying Ill get an email with tracking by 5/29. Friday 5/21 rolls around, I checked my email after work and I got a shipping confirmation and tracking info! Monday 5/24 I will have it before 3 pm. WOOHOO!

They havent been consistant with me at all, which I find funny. My best friend (who works for corp) said they will ship out probably on the 29th, and then you're billed the following month. I hope that this is true though.

Customers service has been up in the air with anything I've asked them. But nobody in my area has them.

It is because of a shortage on the AMOLEAD and there is a very high demand = Hell for all of us.

How is best buy getting their shipments more freqently then VZW does anyone know? Or is it just because everyone goes to VZW first?

I ordered mine on May 2nd, I think. They put the cost onto my account and the rep said I'd be billed June 17th (along with my regular phone bill). Thought that was a great deal! :)
 
Well the screen is sweet, blacks are black! And it's supposed to use 40% less power over a normal "lcd".
 
Anyone in the South East receive shipping notice yet? I haven't. But hope to get the phone before or on Friday. I'd love to have the new phone before I go out of town next weekend.

No. They haven't been. I had to go to the store to activate a temporary phone and the store manager told me the my date has been changed twice and they dont know why. Its back to the original date right now though.

Part of it might be because Best Buy doesn't honor the NE2 discount for existing VZW customers who a eligible for new phones. If I got my phone at Best Buy, I'd have to pay $199. Through VZW, I pay $149.
 
I ordered mine on 5/20 in VZW store. I was told it would ship by 6/3. 2 days later I called VZW support and was told 6/10, so who knows.

Thats actually an incorrect statement. Best Buy does honor the NE2, otherwise I would have paid around $599 for the phone. The $199 is with the 2 year renewal (under the NE2) and $100 instant rebate. When I went to the verizon store on the 15th, I paid the same price as I did at best buy, minus the instant rebate because the verizon store made me do the rebate by mail. As for why best buy has the phone while verizon doesn't.... my guess is prolly that people may not realize that best buy services verizon. I didn't know until I read it here, otherwise I would've gone to best buy to begin with. :)

Nope. The $100 rebate is available to anyone who's not still under their contract. The additional NE2 discount is available to the primary line.

Best Buy $299 - $100 (instant rebate) $199 final price

VZW Store $299 - $100 (mail in rebate) - $50 (NE2 discount) = $149 final price

VZW Online $299 - $100 (instant rebate) - $50 (NE2 discount) = $149 final price

Best Buy does not do the additional $50 NE2 discount for the primary line.

$199 is the 2 year contract price. The New Every Two (NE2) is an additional discount you get. For example, I ordered my Incredible for $149 thanks to my NE2 credit.
