Root Android 9 / Root

I want to turn my old Tab s3 into a dedicated server. However, it appears I need to root it first. I tried googling it, but couldn't find anything. Is there an easy way to root the s3 once it is on Pie? I haven't rooted a device in a couple years, and only used one click roots.

The link below is for flashing a custom recovery (twrp) and root but be very careful not to wind up in a dm-verity fail. I recommend reading threw the entire thread and according to some members it's working on Pie. Best of luck.

and just an fyi xda is where i always start for anything root related. most of your developers that root devices usually hangs out there. i do my research there, then hop onto this site if i have any questions.

the best tip i can give you is read, read, read, and then read some more.
