Hey guys does Android (yes I know it's Google) but is there a specific customer service department for Android? I think that would be THE BEST idea for these people to have one of those considering.. thanks!😁😁

Well there is for Android, it's called the Open Handset Alliance.

But for end consumer support, much better to go to the manufacturer of their particular device. And if you have a Pixel or Nexus device, then that's Google.

There are other groups within this forum for apps & games in general, specific apps, specific games and there is an Android Lounge. What you're looking for determines which group to use.

There's always something with this thing. And they would be best equipped to help.👍🏻
i do not agree with this. each manufacturer puts their own "skin" to the devices they make. it is additional software that makes the phone more unique to other android devices.....so because of that having just a generic android customer service would not make sense. the manufacturer or even your carrier who sells the device would be better suited to help then somebody who is only trained on android alone.

Even Microsoft doesn't do customer service for PCs with Windows installed. You have a problem with for example a Dell laptop, then you go to Dell for service.

The only company that does all the own software and hardware really is Apple, where they have total control of everything.

👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 considering I've called LG before and they weren't much help with some of the issues I was having this is why I thought of an Android customer service...👍🏻

Trouble is that LG are one of the companies who modify Android most (though not as much as Samsung). So would your generic Android customer service be supposed to know about whatever LG have done? Samsung? Xiaomi? Some backstreet Chinese clone maker? Where do we draw the line?

The other drawback is that it allows manufactures to take the profit from selling the phone and then someone else bears the cost of supporting it.

Unfortunately the only lever you have with a corporation who don't support their products is to not buy any more of them. If you are a highly-followed "influencer" maybe your complaint will have an effect because you may cost them money, but otherwise there's not much you can do.

Couple posts removed, let's be nice everyone.

Google has customer service and 800 numbers for *some* of their products. Including Pixel. So if you have issues with a pixel there are dedicated support paths. But as it was stated, any other phone you have to contact Samsung, Oneplus, LG, etc.
