One UI 3.0 Android 11

Accept no imitations!
The public beta for the Note 10's last major update is coming!

Open now to users in South Korea only, stay tuned for the beta to open in other countries. As an early adopter and beta tester, I'm looking forward to trying it out on my unlocked Note 10+ and putting it through its paces.

What about you? Are you going to apply for the beta test, or wait for the official release?

i'll wait and see what comes out. i'm using a custom launcher so it won't matter to me too much. maybe some changing in settings and performance, but for those i can wait.

let us know when you do get it, how you like it. and what new advances they will be adding.

I'll wait too for basically the same reason. The only features so far in 2.5 that I have found interesting are Single Take in the camera and Pentastic and their usefulness for me is questionable.

I higgky doubt itll be its laat major update

That's the plan, other than security patches.

If you think about it, the Note 9 upgrades stopped with One Ui 2.5 and that's it. That device won't get Android 11. So this is the last major OS update for us. Samsung doesn't go back more than two models on most upgrades... it saves on Samsung's resources and creates an incentive for us to buy newer models.

Beta test is open in the US!

I just checked the Samsung Members app, hoping to see a banner for the One UI 3 Android 11 beta. I scrolled across a few and... there it was! I enrolled immediately!
(Well, after reading the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions, of course)

If you don't mind being on the bleeding edge of technology (with the risk of problems), enroll fast before the test fills up!

EDIT: I finally had time to install the massive update after doing some copywriting work for a couple of people. It took a LONG time to install; reboot and set up. Then I was at the home screen and it rebooted again! All good, so many new goodies to check out!

Okay, One UI 3 - Android 11 is great for the most part. But there is one aspect with which I am FURIOUS.

Up until this update, every photo I took synced perfectly to the "Camera Roll" folder in my OneDrive Pictures. It was great! Not anymore.

Now, in order to sync photos to OneDrive, I have to save the photos to internal storage and not the microSD card. Wrong answer - that defeats the whole purpose of having the card! I raised hell with Samsung over this stupid move, although I expect nothing will change.

So I'm back to regularly hooking up my phone, copying & pasting all my photos and videos to OneDrive using Exporer. It's ludicrous.

I don't like how all files including photos get listed under recent files.

The audio quality on the akg headphones now has less base.

WhatsApp notifications and all notifications are now blue. Used to be app specific.

The pop up chat box on WhatsApp is not used friendly anymore (chat bubble).

The phone doesn't automatically drop into a power saving lower mode if battery gets below a certain %

One thing I really like about the new update is the addition of an option to remove permissions if an app isn't used for a few months. The only way I see to improve this would be to allow the user to set the length of time before the permissions are revoked.
