How do i update Android with Root?

you should not do any updates if the phone is rooted. usually all you need to do is flash an updated custom rom that has the update included.
what phone do you have? do you have a custom recovery?
well you actually did not say that this was inside vmos
according to vmos faq's, they are working on higher android os versions.
and just an fyi......this does not root your phone.
Android 11? There's an unstable "developer preview" for Pixel 2, 3 & 4 series, but nothing for any other devices for several months yet.
Rooted devices can be updated if someone builds a custom ROM for that particular device based on a newer version of android. Note the word "if". But that's talking about the actual OS, not a virtual machine - I suspect you are reliant on the app developer releasing an update based on a newer android for that, and if they really are still using 5.1 I'm not optimistic about that happening at all, never mind jumping to a modern version.

Sorry, I didn't explain very well. I edited my last post. I want to "force" an update on a VM.
And yes, I do have root on host machine as well on the guest machine.
