Help Backup keeps faling.

I need a backup of my phone to google drive. However, all items are ""waiting to back up.." and press on "back up now" results in a message "Could n't back up, try again later"
How to find the cause of the problem, correct it, and get the phone back up?

I found some information about the issue HERE which suggests that there's some sort of issue with backups if you have any security enabled on the device.

At a quick glance it seems removing security will work but is super inconvenient. Another work around was to use the Google One app to make the backup.

This did not solve the problem, but it let me start thinking. Google does not make bugs, Google IS a bug.
I didn't know why, but I turned off the phone and removed the extra SIM, which is data only. (No calls, no SMS) From that time, the old back up became viisible again. Heu?? Place back that SIM and yes, the old backup was gone.
With the extra SIM removed again, delete the old backup, replace the extra SIM and YES, now backup works again.
Please don't ask this old retired IT professional the understand this. I don't... But I am glad.

Very strange! I'm glad you found a sort of "workaround". Definitely an oddity though.
