G4 is getting too hot to hold. Ive read sometimes rooting or getting rid of bloatware can help but I cannot find a root software or video that throughly shows how to get rid of this bloatware either by rooting or using ADB commands.
Right now cannot even get command prompt to recognize that a phone is plugged in.
Weird thing is if I do not fast charge or use phone as a hotspot it does not seem to heat up too much. Only when put in sim card and hotspot and charge it does it seem to overheat.
Are you saying that a only 4g device might get phased out soon and no longer work at all?
Have you opened developers options and seen what is running?
And no, at least in the US, don't count on 4G going anywhere real quick.
5G still basically sucks, and it will be a long time (2+ years) before it is anywhere good enough to replace 4G.
But, YOUR device is from 2016.
That is like 80 years old in human years.
Have you replaced the battery yet?
If not, it is probably due, and getting one that isn't already aged (even just from sitting around in a warehouse) may be difficult.
You can try using ADB commands without root to stop bloatware and other system apps from running.
I cannot say what the results could be.

A friend has tried the above link, and really likes it.
It makes the ADB command thing very quick and simple.
