Help I can't update my Xperia L1 to Android 8 (Oreo)

I've recently bought an used Xperia L1 (in very good condition, looks like brand new) to use it as a secondary phone.



The only issue is that I can't update it to Android 8, even though, as I found on the internet, Xperia L1 supports it. The device, which runs Android 7.0 (https://imgur.com/a/5UcEjyY) just says it has the latest available system updates (https://imgur.com/a/FX04B5i).



How can I solve this problem?

even though it supports higher android os, it might not be available due to your cellular provider. your provider in conjunction with the manufacturer are the ones that makes updates available to your device. your phone is 5 years old! so i'm not surprised. if it is says it is up to date than your phone is up to date. not much you can do at this point in time.

is it really a big deal for you to get android 8?
