Voice over WiFi (VoWifi) issue with android 11 phone

I just bought a new phone with Android 11 installed. I am having an issue with my VoWifi not working. My old phone with Android 9 installed works perfectly so it is definitely an Android 11 issue. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

What phone do you have? Who is your cellular provider? Do you have WiFi calling in your plan? Your phone needs to support WiFi calling. Not all phone's support it. You also need to have a plan that includes it as well.

I have an umidigi A11. The tech support at T-Mobile has went through some trouble shooting . My plan definitely has voice over wifi and my SIM card worked perfectly in my old phone. I believe the issue is a configuration problem so I may have to reset my phone and make sure I follow all the steps to bring the phone online. I definitely have my setting on my new phone to Wifi calling enabled and preferred

I'm quite sure that Umidigi is incompatible and doesn't support WiFi calling((VoWiFi) with carriers in the US. Was your old phone originally sold by T-Mobile? Where did you actually buy the Umidigi, like Ebay, Aliexpress, Wish, etc?

There's been many similar posts before on this board, along the lines of, "Help!! I bought this WonHungLo phone cheap from Wish, imported from China, and I can't make WiFi calling work with Verizon, etc."

From what I understand with WiFi calling in the US, you must have a phone that was supplied by that carrier, or a device that's approved by them.

Since VoWiFi was working with your previous phone, was it also a Umidigi?

Also, you're apparently focused on your phone being the problem but have you done anything tied to the WiFi network you're connected to? Reboot the router? Have you tried using a different WiFi network elsewhere?

WiFi calling works perfectly well with Android 11. Unfortunately that doesn't tell us what aspect of your phone's/router's/carrier's software is the problem, just that it's going to be something particular to the specific setup here rather than something as general as the OS version.

I can just imagine some poor peep speaking to T-Mobile customer service, "Can you activate my Pipi?"
