Google Pay on Galaxy Watch Active I

Hi, as the above suggests, I have a Galaxy Watch Active (1st generation).

Samsung Pay comes as standard on it, but I use (imo) the far superior Google Pay.

Is there any reason Google Pay isn't available on this watch?

Since the Galaxy Watch Active runs Samsung's Tizen platform instead of Wear OS I suspect they simply didn't want to make a competitor's payment app available. You'd need to ask Samsung for their reasoning though.

Perhaps you just need to install Google Pay on the watch for it to work. Not installed doesn't mean not compatible. I'd try that first if you haven't already.

It's not available for the watch. I don't think there is a Gear version of it. Samsung wants you to be in their universe.

I use Samsung pay regularly..... Don't have a problem using it.
