LauncherPro Beta

Ok, love this app....but how do you get the digital clock and weather on the homescreen as in the pic above?

There are various clock/weather widgets that look like the HTC one. If you don't like "Weather & Toggle Widgets," you could also try "Fancy Widget". It's free, and does exactly that and nothing more.

This is AWESOME!!! Been running LP for the past week or so and I love it. But now I can change the bottom phone button to Dialer One! That's probably as close as we're gonna get to being able to make it the default dialer without some sort of patch or something:) Love it - that's huge in my book. Thanks dev!!!!

Few questions.

Do any of the Sense replacement widgets have the same functionality when pressing on them (i.e. weather takes you to the weather app and the clock takes you to the desktop clock)?

Was trying out LauncherPro using Home Switcher. Touching the home button took me back to Sense. I assume that if use LauncherPro that this won't happen?

Is it possible to get Google Unread Mail Count widget into the bottom dock? I can get the other settings changed to standard apps (mail to Google, messages to Voice, etc.) but I like having the unread count instead of relying on the notification bar.

This^. Really like Dialer One and now its great.

looks like ADW Launcher is now working for non-rooted phones (it's in the market). I was a fan of LauncherPro, but from what I can tell ADW Launcher has all the features others are requesting. Doesn't seem quite as smooth when scrolling or previewing screens, but definite potential. So nice when there are a bunch of great launchers to choose from!

That is one of my (small) pet peeves about Sense: the most prominent button is the default "phone" button there at the bottom of the screen.

Home took care of that, but now Launcher Pro has the ability to get rid of it or replace it.. I got rid of it; I've always used the "real" button for phone.. why another one?

now that we can customize the docker, is there a way to change the browser button to opera instead of the default browser?

If I changed one of the default buttons at the bottom to Handcent, how do I change it back to default message button? OK figured it out, restore defaults. I'm brain dead today.

IMO,

I like LPb better, its smoother, snappier, and more down to earth. Maybe when ADW squishes out the bugs, it can be better. Again, my opinion. LPb wins.

When messing with the settings like scrolling speed, etc. I have gotten it faster and smoother than LBp just my opinion though

What are your settings? Found it slow even after tweeking it a bit.

Desktop Scrolling Speed: 374
UnCheck Live Wallpaper SUpport
Desktop Overshoot: 39
Drawer Zoom Effect Speed: 401 (the only thing in the launcher that needs work.)
Uncheck new drawer
Check animated drawer
Check fast drawer

Works for me, try it out and see

I tried out LP after reading this forum. Not a fan of Sense and liked the speed of LP. It seemed to drain my battery fairly quickly though, so I'm trying out GDE now. I came from the Moto Droid and was using Sweeter Home Beta 2. It is awesome in terms of customization and by far my favorite home replacement app. Has anyone tried using that on the Eris? I'd like to give it a whirl - but it takes a while to get it set up. Before I invest the time I wondered if anyone had experience on this device. Thanks.

sweet thanks!! I got cyanogen mod and was missing the HTC weather/clock widget.. I like this a lot!! Now I can uninstall my alternatives. I love this launcher pro though

ok so i've been running LP for about a week and must say that I will probably not ever go back to Sense or even switch homes again! I was using Helix for a little bit and wasn't sure I wanted to take the leap to a brand new home setup but I'm sure glad I did! LP is soooo much smoother and snappier and now I have everything set up just how I want it. At first I thought it was causing major battery drain but then I did a factory reset and I think that helped... I also took some widgets off my screen that were constantly updating (that sure helped my battery situation). Now I get at least a full day's use out of my phone (unless I'm doing heavy calling or browsing). The only one issue I have left is occasional FC's when switching back from landscape mode to portrait mode... Other than that... I Highly Recommend Using Launcher PRO!

+1

I've been eating a bit of crow pie on this one; being the "stock/official/out-of-the-box/keeper" freak that I am :D.

Launcher Pro beta went on my Eris about a week ago as an experiment that I was sure would last about an hour. ;)
