Root ( Port ) Galaxy 1.6 on the Behold 2 Final

How do i install, EUGENE373_PDA_Final.tar.md5

I am guessing this is the file i need to install/flash or something. My phone is connected to my laptop. It is reasonably charged. i have downloaded android sdk, and now have full use of ADB.

I can adb push or adb shell something now.. or do i need to write -d adb shell

Please help

You will need to download the program ODIN as well as the Behold2.ops then search on how to flash your phone with those files and program. You CAN'T ADB the above file since it's replacing your OS.

Exactly what are you trying to push and did you check the spelling and everything. The file is case sensitive, if it's in the wrong case or has any spaces, it won't be able to be pushed. You'll have to rename the file or folder to not include any spaces.
 
its the batterystats.bin it pretends to push it but just says "331 KB/s (0 bytes in 21244.00s)" spelling and spaces are exact

ok, i see now, I dled odin, installed it, opened it, selected restore my f: drive(where the phone is), and now, do i need to select the ops file in the load image file from dialog box? (the reason i ask is coz it only pre-filters for .img files) and then, select START??

There should not be any spaces for example:

Incorrect:

adb push F:Android Files\batterystats.bin /data/system

Correct:
adb push F:AndroidFiles\batterystats.bin /data/system
 
ok well i was doing C:\AndroidSDK\tools>adb push batterystats.bin /data/system
but no weird spaces...

ha sorry had to edit that, but that is now exactly what i am doing

where's the file located in your computer here's an example and from the beginning:

if the file is located in your C: drive in the android folder

Code: 
cd\(press enter)
cd androidsdk\tools (press enter)
adb push C:\android\batterystats.bin /data/system
 
Thanks All for helping me load Android 1.6, everything is running smoothly, and the operating system is a lot slicker than 1.5 I have yet to play with everything. Thanks bh_man for creating the Rom/odin/flash/tar/md5 file, and supporting it.

Everything runs great except for two things, it seems in a cruel twist of fate, the things that led me to start tweaking my phone (i.e. losing my images from the SD card) one of the errors deals with the gallery app, the camera app opens fine, and I am able to take pictures, but when i want to go review the pictures by hitting the Gallery icon, I get an error (The application Camera (process.com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.) So I have to force close and it exits out of the gallery window. Not a big deal, but its there.

And, lastly the End button, typically one can hit the end button and it closes out of the active window and takes you back to the main screen, in my case I cant, hitting the end button only brings up the phone options window. I can only get out the app by hitting the back button. Am I missing something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks again for the new OS, works awesomely well
 
Do any of you guys get your apps corrupted when you turn off your phone? Everytime I restart my phone and turn it back on, there apps that get corrupted or show as uninstall? I have odin twice and still same problem. Wonder whats going on? Had this issue with other roms, noticed it on R8 and above.

With Galaxy, no. Never most likely. The official TouchWiz 1.6 when it's released, with all of its bloatware and crappyness, will have working vibrate, just like the NoTwiz 1.6 ROMS from BH_MAN.

But pretty much expect that Galaxy 1.6 will never have it. 1.5 didn't either.

Read below if you want to learn.

As far as I can tell, you have two choices. First choice would be to NOT do the update. The reason being is that if you don't understand enough about ODIN and ADB and flashing new ROM's, there's a chance of "bricking" your phone if not multiple problems which then requires you to post multiple questions. Which by the way had been answered multiple times here as long as you know how to SEARCH.

Your second option is to do what most of us did. We read and paid attention to as much as we can and understand the process. I was like you, I did not know anything about ODIN, ADB, flashing, rooting...etc. The only difference is I read multiple threads and gained knowledge on how to do this.

Since I'm a nice guy, I will help you. YOU just have to do the easiest part....READ. I will "search" for you and post all the links you need to gain a better understanding on how to do this. You ask, why type all this and not just give you the answers? Well Daniel-San, wax on, wax off, repeat. (a little humor) :D
