Camera crash

This doesn't always happen, but when it does it's annoying. I might be trying to use the camera when a message appears that system ui is not responding. At first I hoped that if I waited it would turn out ok, but now I just close the app. When I go to camera again, the phone acts as if it's been rebooted.

Did you clear the cashe?

I was about to suggest that very thing, Milo. Start with clearing the camera app cache in Settings: if that fails, clear system cache in Android Recovery.

I was going to say clearing the cache and the data also. Start the app fresh. The only thing lost will be the app settings, which would only take minutes to restore.

Once the photos are taken they're in the phone storage until you delete them. Clearing the camera data simply returns the camera to its original settings.

Just power down the device and reboot it.

If you only clear the data in the camera app, you should not lose any photos. Those are stored in your gallery and the camera is finished with them. If you're worried about losing them, it tells me you're not regularly backing up all your data: which is a disaster waiting to happen. All you will lose are your camera setting presets, which should be easy to set up again. Back up all your data before clearing anything... and do regular backups (at least weekly). Then back up the backup, because ALL flash memory will eventually fail.

That's great, but I think you're assuming a computer or something that way. What exactly is flash memory? Is it the sd kind?

yes he is referring to either a flash drive or sd card....especially sd cards. files can get corrupted quite easily on such devices.

or another option (which i know you do not like) is using google photo's to back up your pictures like i do. i never ever have to worry about my pics. i still have photos from 20 years ago stored there!!!!!
