Hearing Health and Hearing Aids

My appointment went well. The problems that I've noted are limitations of the aids. For two weeks I've been hearing at 90% of the potential of the aids. I'm now at 100%. I was given the choice and I opted for full volume. I can turn them down but not up beyond the limit that's set. Needing to boot the app for the aids to connect to my phone was addressed and my audi reset the BT settings. I haven't tested the fix but it's no bother to boot the app if need be. Speaking of audiologist, today is the last day for my audiologist to work at Costco. She plans to return to the profession but is taking an extended leave to take care of her ailing elderly mother. I'll miss her and so will Costco. I don't know how long she has worked there but she has taken care of me for the last six years.

My buddy got his new hearing aids last Monday. I text him asking how he likes them. He said I'm hearing way too much. I understand that. I feel the same with mine. I hear things I've never heard before. I have a battery powered wall clock that I've had on my office wall for years that I now hear ticking. I'm learning to boot the aids app on my phone after turning on the phone in the mornings. The aids work flawlessly without the app for hearing but to stream audio and notifications and phone calls, the app needs to be booted. My audi said that isn't the way they work but it's the way they work with my S21. Not a big deal. I'm also learning not to vocalize my feelings about the sports I'm watching. I get too loud and it cuts the ambient volume and then slowly brings it back up. I mowed the leaves in my yard while wearing the aids. They did a fair job of suppressing the harmful volume of the engine. My Bose buds do a better job. No complaint. I don't intend on wearing aids to mow. It was only a test.
To sum up this mini review, I'm very pleased with my Sennheiser Sonite R aids that are made for Costco by Phonak. They are working really well for me all day on a charge without a problem. They are hearing aids and not a hearing fix like every other brand of aid. My buddy and my son's MIL all just bought aids from Costco and we all went with different brands. All three of us are very happy with our purchases. I think Costco upped their game.

Just a short update on my Sennheiser Sonite R hearing aids. Recently we have been going out with my son and his wife for dinner ever few weeks or so. These aids struggle to fix conversation at a table of four in a restaurant environment. I have switched environment settings for the aids and have let them try to fix it on their own. Another miserable fail. One on one across a table with my wife was improved over my previous aids but a table of four with everyone contributing to the subject at hand is nearly impossible to follow. Recently, we met three friends at the cabin and had a mini party on the deck. Outside without the background music and restaurant chatter and noise, my aids worked great following the topic from whoever spoke. It's that closed compressed sound of the restaurant that aids just can't handle.

It is either my hand or my mothers hand, ever since I have my bifocals and she straighten thems every once a while, that cause: my left wire that connects to the unfitted hearing aid, looks like either Darth Vader's helmet or a Hershey's kiss, well after a while it pulls it out of small places but I will wait until serious problem with it but I can hear a bit more into my left ear, funny about it being slightly pulled, but it is not broken at all, just hands out of balance.

That is why my audiologist gave me the Windex Sound assistance, eve like talking with soft spoken friends like my friend Andy, I plop it on the table besides him, it almost camoflauges against the composition notebook pattern tables, my glasses are so invisible towards that pattern.
This is really the only way. I am too reluctant to go with this setup though.

yeah cost too much money, my insurance paid 90% of it, so I end up out of the pocket about fifty dollars out of my pocket with both my Widex hearing aids and also with the blue tooth speaker that is about 5 inches by 5 inches.
it's not the money. It's actually using the instrument for me, though.

Very simple interface, you press a button to change from Remote Microphone to Blue tooth, to telecoil. When syncing with the cell takes less then seven seconds.

yeah I screwed it up due to massive swimming all the time when I was younger, too much water damage...
