Not sure if this was linked, but I'm so glad I'm 2nd in line at my Best Buy:

Sprint HTC EVO 4G accessory prices leaked for Best Buy

Called Sprint today to make a payment figured I'd try to work some magic on some discounts. Didn't mention the Evo at all just said I felt my bill was kinda high lately and I'd been shopping around. I'm a premier customer since 05. She said the $10 off for 24 months was no longer available. I mentioned the $70 credit for new contract she said mine isn't up till October but she marked my account for it in case the offer expires I'll still get it then. Figure that's 7 months of no $10 data fee. I'll take it. And try for more in October. These are fical times. Every $ counts.

Thanks for that link. So that goes for every BB?

My guess would be, yes; however I have no hard facts for that answer. I'm just using logical sense (which we all know bites in the rear from time to time).

I was informed directly from BB Mobile that they would have cases and a few other accessories available at launch. So this also just provides a stronger reason to believe it would apply "nationwide" essentially.

Yeah I hope so. But Sprint seems to have cheaper prices. I'll check out both stores though.

I doubt the shadow is near its release date. Am I wrong? I mean they just got the incredible.
Since this is the rumore thread, there's rumors that VZ will be launching two Android devices in July, and one of them may be the Shadow.

Hey, got a question. I own a Palm Pre and to close an app., you just flick it away. How do you close apps on the EVO? Pre ordered my EVO at both BB & The Shack. Which it the best to go with? Thanks all.
TaskOS is an App that somewhat duplicates the WebOS cards. It doesn't show live cards just the app, it scrolls left/right and a flick up closes, although as mentioned apps don't need to be closed as on WebOS.

After trying to just persuade me out of leaving by telling me the Evo's specs and what 4g will do for me when I get it she offered the $10 for 24 months. Again I know its a hassle but just so you people on the fence are aware, they will do this for you. Also.. Be nice.
I must really suck at this. I called last week was very nice and did the whole daughter wants an iPhone I'm selling her on an Evo she's concerned about the $10 charge since we're not in a 4G area. The retentions manage was nice enough to note that I'm interested in canceling the line of service.
I don't really care about the $10 but I figured I'd try after reading posts.

YAY ME! 1ooth post!

I must admit I'm alittle salty that Sprint is gonna punish people who don't have 4G and make us pay for hotspot while 4G'ers get it free for a month. Doesn't seem fair at all ! I don't mind the no cap data fee ($10) but come on.

Here's an article I saw in the Thursday edition of USA Today. It's by their tech writer Edward C. Baig. It's actually a pretty good review but he mentions the short battery life. To be fair though, he mentions that his iPhone 3G battery failed pooped out about the same time.

Sprint HTC Evo 4G is fast, but battery life is short - USATODAY.com

I'm patiently/impatiently waiting for the release of the HTC EVO 4G.

Sorry, in looking back over older posts, I see SHO_ONE posted about this article.

Many posts back their were questions about Swype on the EVO 4G. I think we're 99.99% to 100% sure it's not gonna be on it.

Anyway I sent an email to Swype asking about the Swype beta for Android phones and a couple days ago I received a reply. Here it is (copy & pasted) in it's entirety:

By any chance does anyone in this thread/forum work for the mobile department at Best-Buy or "The Shack"? And if so, will you let us know when the phones actually arive at the store so I can call and try to get mine early? :p

Yup it was at his store. Biggest cell phone store I've ever been to and boy was it busy. The place will be a madhouse on the 4th.

That store is always busy. I go to the Aventura store if I need to visit a sprint store which is like 3 times a year and that is only because of the Palm Pre inferior hardware. It is less busy than the PB store.

im thinking about selling my droid and paying the ETF since its only 150 (prorated and beat the 350 hike) and getting an evo. hopefully there wont be a difference between sprint and verizon at my house 3G wise since i get full bars. my question is, how long should i wait to go to BB and get one since launch day is gonna be like droid day.

Hey guys I have a question? I've only used BB and Pre, so excuse if this question is dumb, but is Android capable of getting viruses? Is there some sort of anti-virus, spyware, malware needed?

As long as you don't root your phone (load modified firmware), which you probably won't, you should be fine.

No worries...

I am encouraged again by the clarification from Qik about the core vs. premium features. Can anyone with an EVO help me understand how the core Qik services work?

Video Sharing
Can you use it to stream live video to friends?

Does the live video get recorded on the phone or on Qik's site for later viewing?

Can you record video "off-line" locally and share it later via Qik?

On the 2-way chat video calling
Is the converstion recorded?

Can you chat with someone via a web-cam?

If you tried using Qik, how would you characterize your results?

Thank you

Mediocre. At best with a blackberry tour.
Thank you

Yes, Yes, Yes, Should be, No, and Mediocre.

:)Just watched Dan hess compare the 69.99 plan on Sprint, with AT&T and Verizon. His commercials actually are really good. Why he isn't talking about the evo yet is beyond me. He is going to wait until the product is out, and then be forced to compete with all of the iphone media. There is something called seize the moment.
