I think nascar should be paying sprint for advertising, seeing as how Evo fanatics are now watching nascar for the first time just to get a glimpse of the Evo.

We're watching an event we've never watched before to see a phone that we want\have, eventhough we know pretty much everything there is to know about the phone.

We are fanatics!!

I think I've read enough about the EVO to know that it'll be a great phone for me for at least a year. I hope during that time there are any number of break-thrus in cell phone/OS design so when I get my next one it'll be another leap ahead. This won't be my last cell phone, so why should I fret?

BTW I was there! I worked 10 minutes drive from the Pentagon (for a nationaly know company)! I was, in fact, in downtown DC when I got the news! From a friend still at my work place! AND I lived through the DC sniper thing - my daughter had to crouch down every time she got gas in her car!

I DO NOT think this analogy behooves anything!!!

Dave

I didn't go through any of that.... however I was hit by a car that day... a nice old lady t-boned me as I was riding my bike to school. College is expensive... anyway in the ER I hear a doctor (or at least I think it was a doctor) say "a effin plane just crashed into the twin towers." So I may not have lived or worked down the street, but I understand the fear that day brought. However, in the future... and I ask eveyone to do this.. please PM me if you have an issue so that we can deal in private.

Check this article out from yahoo about the EVO, 4g, Wimax, and LTE etc. Kinda puts a damper on the excitement... 4G wireless: It's fast, but outstripped by hype - Yahoo! News

"Sprint and Verizon are taking different routes in 4G. Sprint owns a majority of Clearwire Corp., which is building a network using WiMax technology. Once seen as very promising, WiMax looks set to be a niche technology, and WiMax devices like the Sprint EVO phone won't be able to use networks built using the dominant 4G standard, called LTE, for Long Term Evolution."

^^ From the article, it says "and wimax devices like the sprint EVO phone won't be able to use LTE,"

I thought that it will support that network, with a software upgrade, at least that's what others have said. Is that true or no?

I wouldnt worry about it, because by the time that LTE is fully implemented the Evo 3 will be out.

Check it out guys!!!! The BodyGlove case that sprint will be selling on june 4th! Im definately sold on this :)

YouTube - Sprint's Body Glove protective cover for the Evo 4G

Thanks for posting up the video. I actually got to see this case at the mall Sprint store the other day. They couldn't sell it to me in advance, but it looked pretty cool in person. Not sure if this will be the right case for me, but definitely looks like a good option based on this video. Only thing he didn't talk about was how much size it added to the EVO.

He actually made a thread here and answered some questions. He thinks it's about 1mm.

I like the grey, makes it seems high tech. I probably won't be picking this up until I see how weird the 3500 mAh battery makes the phone. I use one in my Hero and I have no clue how they're gonna get that thing to fit the evo comfortably without distorting the heck out of the shape. Here's to hoping they're able to make it smaller!
