Things I like about my 2.1 Update

Guys,

I want a great phone experience just like everyone else. I think the topic of 2.1 issues is being effectively covered by other threads and I wanted to start a new one about things we like about the 2.1 (stock) update.

I am going to start it with:

1. Auto dimming much better now (bright enough to leave it on 'auto').
2. Weather animation when turning phone on
3. Ring volume decreased when picking up ringing phone
4. More apps availability (requiring 2.1)

Any other improvements I may have missed?
 
I can appreciate what you are doing here. We all gripped about gettin 2.1 and now every other thread is a complaint about it... So with that being said

I LOVE THE PINCH OPTION THAT ALLOWS YOU TO VIEW ALL SEVEN SCREENS!!!
 
In addition to the above,

I'm getting much better battery life, especially when I'm not actively using the phone.

The Market is much improved.

The whole feel of the interface is much smoother.

I like being able to easily switch from the seven scenes, and I like the overall search feature where I can search for anything on my phone. Oh, and youtube seems better too. The vids seem to work all the time(knock on wood)rather than most of the time.
 
2.1 has been a great upgrade for me. The phone is more stable and the new features are great.

1. Pinch to view all windows is great. I never used all the windows before.
2. The new google maps are great and turn by turn navigation.
3. Battery life when not using the phone is better. (I had to turn off too many features before to get a day of battery life.)
4. The camera quality is better and I like the new settings button better. (No lag like before)
5. I use CalWidget and now it remembers the settings on 2.1.
6. The agenda widget will scroll all events.
7. The calendar view is better
8. The default browser is faster.

Overall this phone has gone from a 5.5 to a 7.5 on scale of 1 to 10.
 
i just like how i get a better battery life. i never had issues on it with 1.5 but now im confident i can go atleast a day and a half on heavy usage.

i also like the weather animation, i walk around at work showing it off :D
my firends who have the iphone 3gs are tired of me talking about my phone and showing it off lol
 
I'm getting at least double the battery life. I also like speaking my texts and emails with Better Keyboard.

weather animation?? what is that?
 
I like the:

Increased number of apps on the Market
Better battery life
quicker snap from portrait to landscape and back
Google nav is just too cool and destroys Sprint Nav
Better camera settings
Better calender

All-in-all, a much better OS than the 1.5 which came on the phone.
 
I have to agree with the consensus regarding the better battery life. I also like how my yahoo mail (using the mail app) updates when I open the program, instead of having to open the app and hit "check for new emails".

I like the dimming of the ring tone when you pick up your phone.

Someday i'll have no lag, some days ill have tons of lag. I like the days when I have no lag.
 
The bad thing is that we blame the phone when it can also be the network causing the lag. We use to complain about the same issue with our computers.... lol
 
I like everything about the new 2.1 except the bluetooth, that is not a major issue for me but I would like them to fix it, I loved the way it worked before with my car stereo. I could even use it with the top down, nothing else ever worked with the top down. I think they will have to fix this issue. Phone is just smoother than before.
 
Youtube is 1000% better now

Google Nav is great, I used it this weekend driving around (can I uninstall Sprint Nav without it having ill effects on the phone since it does have the uninstall button?)

I seem to have better battery life but it could be because of the above app, it always displays at least x2.05 battery life :D

More apps of course

Helicopter view for home screens

My headphones work!!! (hopefully that will last)
