Help Please help! "unable to play this type of audio file"

I have an HTC incredible and have tried everything to put music on it, the most recent program i am using is tunesync, which works great. However, whenever i transfer music i always get the message "unable to play this type of audio file" I have tried everything from making the files all mp3 format to using different programs to do the sync, but nothing will work. Can anybody help me?

I had this problem with the stock player. It wouldn't read my WMP files. So I converted to mp3 now all is well. Whats wrong with drag and drop using a usb. Worked fine for me and my 1800 songs.

I like my music arranged in playlists and have been using itunes as default media player for some time now. As for dragging and dropping is there a way to add playlists without doing it in the phone itself?
