Invisibile Shield installation + Water Damage Indicator = Disaster

After installing my invisible shield this morning, I turned the device over to replace the batter and low and behold the darn thing is a slightly deeper pink in the corner. The indicator itself isn't totally shot, but just the corner.

Anything I can/should do, or am I just SOL?

I posted this in the wrong forum the first time. Please excuse the double post.

Here are some pics of it. As you can see, it's only the corner.

I think you should be fine. I believe there are internal water markers as well, so if you do end up having problems with your phone, they'll be able to check that as well. It doesn't look fully activated anyhow.

Thanks for the tip though, i'll be sure to detach the battery cover from the phone when applying my invisi shield.

So how did this happen again??

Applying the invisible shield. I had the battery door off because I applied it on there first. I guess some water came off the unit as I was squeegy'ing the screen protector.

Also TJWOO, you're right, it doesn't look fully activated. Because of this, I would hope that if I had a problem that I wouldn't be rejected for this.

As minimal as that is I don't think I'd use the bleach method, although it works great if the sticker is fully activated. I've actually never done the bleach method then tried to return the phone, but I tested it on an old sidekick ID I had and it didn't look tampered with when I was done. It took a little while though. I put the bleach at the edges and the red slowly shrank inward.

i got the same problem :( didnt even noticed the sensor there. are you sure there are other internal indicators besides the battery one?

I went and talked with 2 separate best buy mobile stores and they agreed that judging by my strip, it was going to be a close call if I needed sprint to go through a warranty repair. It would "really depend on who looked at it."

Personally, I don't like those odds. I have TEp, but Sprint and HTC did a wonderful job putting the indicator in the place that would most likely be accidentally activated. It really is garbage because it seems clear that this indicator can give off a false positive very easily, thus absolving Sprint/HTC from any sort of warranty agreement...Don't like that at all.

There was a warning about this on the forum. I put a piece of tape and some paper over mine.

Be careful with that. If the tape is on/near the indicator and you live in a hot climate, I've heard that Scotch tape adhesive will become more liquid with time...you can see where this is going.

dude the same thing happened to me. for the back piece, i took it off before applying and waited for it to dry before i put it back on. for the front screen protector, i used minimal solution and used a rag for any excess solution after squeegeeing. now my indicator is shot, this thing must be ridiculously sensitive, like to water vapors or something. i don't have insurance on it, but should anything happen to my phone, i hope my warranty wont be void b/c of this...

Step 1. Put scotch tape over that thing before you do anything. Sorry you are too late, but for the others, HEED THIS ADVICE NOW!!
