Official 4G/WiMAX Coverage Areas

I'm in Erie.

In general, how do the CO folks feel about Sprint Coverage? I'm on T-mobile and haven't really had a problem except for when I'm coming out of Longmont and I'd get a dropped call every now and again on 287 and Hwy 52 (not always).

I also realize that the lower frequency can penetrate walls better. I do need the hotspot at home feature that Tmob offers and it's been great, but I'd like to not have to necessarily depend on it as much.

Just weighing my options and was waiting to see if 4G was making its way to the area soon.

I've had Sprint in CO for 2 yrs - live in Westminster (Ranch) and the coverage is excellent. Not as good as Verizon in the mountains (like back country in the mountains) - but that aside - I've had no issues w/ coverage and would recommend Sprint for anyone in the DEN area

Coverage at my house in Broomfield (287 and 10th) is crap. But it wasn't any better with verizon.

Most other places in CO have been great. Just that dark spot over my house... :-/

I'm in Martian Acres as we speak. Good to be home!
Too bad there was no 4G waiting for me.

Bah - bummer - SOON!

Like I said in the other thread, I KNOW there is a ClearWire tower on my building (downtown Louisville - I doubt it would reach our part of Boulder - but I'm not sure) that appears to be all plugged in a ready to rock. I'm assuming I'll see more tech activity around the time they turn it on. Hopefully I'll get my EVO tomorrow to be able to see when it comes live.

Thanks for the responses. Didn't know there was a tower in Louisville waiting to be turned on.

Guess I could just give Sprint a test drive. I usually talk anywhere from 3000-5000 minutes a month (for business), and I'm out and about quite a bit at different locations. Suppose that would give me the chance to see how good it is.

Colorado Springs here! I get great Sprint coverage down here. Can't wait for 4G to hit. The RadioShack rep told me that they were "testing" 4G unofficially down here. I'll let you know tomorrow if I get any 4G coverage. I am guessing no.

Awesome! I live in Park Hill and wasn't sure what the case would be. Denver and Seattle (current work city) having 4G is exactly what I was hoping for.

I'm picking up my Evo today from Best Buy at 330. I will be testing 4g today in North County for anyone interested. I will post the 4G results on this thread. I wish we could create some type of listed to compile all the areas everyone has tested...hm may be I will start something and everyone else can copy and past as they add on areas?

Tested 4G Areas:
S.W. STL: 2.2 download, 1.0 upload

4G areas to be tested:
DownTown STL (Busch)
N. County
S. County
W. County
East of the River

maybe a trip to the florissant and hazelwood area?

Wimax is live in Hazelwood. Got 3x1 at the Steak and Shake on Howdershell and 270. drops out 100 yards down the road at the QT. Also, no 4G at Phantom and Mcdonnel blvd.

sprint red also told me that 4G will be live, officially, in the St. Louis area on June 27th.

Are you kidding me??? That would be great to get it before we even show up on the list......

So I have no 4G at my house here in S. County, but when I went to clayton today for lunch I did. It was so fast! I can't wait to have that all over St. Louis.

I was at Busch Stadium last night and wasnt getting 4g in the stadium. But did get it in at various places downtown... I am in soco and not getting it right now...

were you able to get data service at all? I never can with my Nexus One ATT at the stadium.

I'm in the Fenton area and the guy at the Sprint store said his dad works for Clearwire so he had some info on it. He said that they have about half of the towers setup in St Louis already but he doesn't expect it to be official or fully functional until August. He said I may be able to tap onto some 4g here and there before then but it won't be reliable, widespread, or quite as fast yet.

drove down colfax on my way to brunch today. i did get a fleeting 4g signal (Sprint, and it assigned me an IP even) by Colfax & Logan. I thought it'd be stronger downtown. nope. no 4g signal at all downtown. no clue where the tower is then...
