Accessories Seidio Mod possibly needed on Innocase II

If this needs to be moved let me know.... but I just wanted to add this for those who bought the Seidio Innocase II. I noticed that if I pushed on the top two corners it would move and squeak. I'm not sure if this was mine only or if it was from early production but the movement and rubbing on my phone I didn't like because I didn't want any scratches in the end. So here is what I did... For about $2 at your local hobby lobby I went and got some sticky back felt and cut it in 2 little pieces for the top corners. After this no squeak! :eek:

A few pics... Since I have a full sheet I may mess with it so they are straighter... but why mess with something that works???

ive been having the same issue. im very anal when it comes to the phones or cases being flush...great solution. ill have to do this...during phone calls i can feel the case slightly move and i hate that...but all in all the case feels great, its thin, and it looks aweoem

Yea I am just like you when it comes to that... It works very well and you can tell its there unless you take it off, but really why would you do that lol
 
Ditto. Same issue. I'll probably do this little mod, but it pisses me off a little to pay $50+ for a "premium" case and have to start gluing bits to it to make it work right. No big deal, just sayin', for $50, it should be as tight as the Hero case.
 
It's not $50, it's $29.99. $50 is with the holster.

amazon has the seidio case for $24 with free super saver shipping too
 
I bought two cases from Seidio for my 2 Evo's, one black and one burgandy for my wife's. The black case fits perfectly fine, but the burgandy case is atrocious. I went as far as contacting Seidio to request a replacement as I expect better quality from them. I am going to try the felt mod as a temporary fix, but Seidio should be made aware of this issue. Never had any problems with my innocase II's for the iPhone...

I just did this, the case was a little hard to get one and clip. But it feel alot more sturdier.
 
frustrating.. i'm having the same problem now. top right corner isn't snug fit so it's loose and creaks. lots of wiggle room.

guess i'll have to buy felt.
 
same problem here with the BB Pt case (identical to seidio). i can't believe they charge $30 for this plastic and it's such a poor fit. seidio is obviously on this forum and should be volunteering to send everyone the necessary felt as well as changing the mfg spec over in china to add felt in the corners!
 
I had an innocase surface for my blackberry laying around because I had traded the BB for the Evo, and so I pulled the Seidio felt off the inside of it and cut strips out of it. Placed the stripsin the same location by the camera cutout as the OP, but then added more strips along the sides and by the kick-stand cutout. Snug as hell, now. No problems!

Thats what I was going to use from my hero case... but i was going to sell my hero and wanted to keep the case new.
 
This mod actually works very well =) The creaking has lessened a lot and the case feels a lot tighter. And the extra felt probably increases the protection on the phone because it serves as extra padding.
 
If they know they are having issues and as cheap as the material (felt) is they should just line the whole thing with felt, added protection and better fit, problem solved. It's not like they're exactly giving the thing away, what's a few extra pennies if it's going to make their customers happy?
