Synching with Gmail contacts

I synched with my Gmail account but it has synched "All Contacts" instead of "My Contacts"

"All Contacts" includes, in addition to the contacts in "My Contacts" a bunch of emails from people that I may get email from and have emailed frequently but don't want stored in my phone.

Is there anyway to synch only to a "My Contacts" or any group?
 
Gotcha. I know my experience is biased toward the Hero.

Does the Droid have a Contacts app that shows groups?

Nothing that I see at first, but I don't use groups on gmail.

There's at the top when clicking contacts from the home page:

phone: call log: contacts: favorites

click menu and it brings up search: new contact: display options: accounts: import/export

Dunno if that helps! Droid is very new to a lot of us but we'll figure it out soon enough!

Took me a while to figure it out, but I believe the Hero has an icon that looks like a picture of people, so you start there and proceed as suggested (People -> Groups -> Menu -> Sync Groups)

If you're talking about the contact "app" that came installed the phone I don't see anything that shows groups.
In the settings I see it only allows me to either synch or not not synch, but there's no way (that I see) to specify.
 
Now that I think about it, when I installed the Facebook app, it specifically asked me wether I wanted to import all friends as contacts or just the ones already in my contact list (as I had already synched with GMail), and now I can't seem to locate how to change that option (not that I want to)

I had VZW set up my gmail, I wonder if the tech there decided to use "all contacts" and now I can't change it.

Did anyone set up their own Gmail synching on the Droid???
 
OK I've found it!

go to contacts > hit the menu button > hit "display options" > select you Gmail account > select "System Group:My Contacts"

There's also an option to only display contacts that have phone numbers
