i think that would have been too much fodder for HTC/Sprint to attack them with what "real" 4G is.
 
Where all the action at? I guess everyone is too busy playing with their EVO's. I guess I cant blame you. :D


On another note I just got done testing video chat with skype via fring. The image quality on 3G is so so borderline acceptable. But over WiFi its freaking amazing (as expected of course). I cant wait to get 4G in my area.

PS: Im not impressed with the new Iphone.

sorry, I couldn't read through 300 posts in this thread, but here is my problem and it may have discussed before:

I find it very difficult to answer the phone with one hand, and even with two hands I have missed calls because I cannot slide the picture down or up fast enough. Please: I need some serious instructions.

BTW this is a fascinating thread, better than going to the movies.
 
Hey guys I'm loving this phone so far. Its the best freaking phone I have ever had. The only issue I'm having is that for some odd reason apps are just automatically opening up and running in the background. I find myself constantly killing them with task killer. Is there any way to prevent them from starting up on their own. I'm new to Android The Evo is my 1st Android phone. Therefore I'm learning as we speak any help would be nice. :)

Could someone please explain what's innovative about it...? I understand it was the iphone that took the Smartphone and actually turned it into a smart phone.... it literally recreated the wheel. I am also grateful for what it's done to the industry and I can understand how and why the iphone has such a following, but people come on... I will attribute a small percentage to why our country is in the financial crunch it

Slide the bar down to answer like ur unlocking the screen. Sliding it up ignores the call...

If Android turns out to be a failure or if Web OS makes a huge come back I can at least say I've tried and know the difference and have made an educated decision. I've owned an itouch, played around with an iphone (that was an unbearable car ride, thank God for my Sprint GPS) and enjoyed my Pre / Web OS and now I'm on the Android band wagon and honestly I can say without a doubt it is the best platform to date.

To the iphoney cult.... enjoy the kool-aid! :D

Here is a prime example of what you say SHO.

Apple iPhone 4 vs. HTC EVO 4G


They only mention the specs that favor apple, no hotspot, no kick stand (its a big deal for me atleast), no replaceable battery, still not flash. WTF!!!:mad:

Oh and has anyone even tested the battery life of the New crap phone? In real world conditions? I think not.
 
I am sure all of you know that there are no more EVOs in the US of A. Even the Sprint online store mentions that they are out of it. Engadget had an article today about it. Wow, I have not heard a Sprint phone having this outcome in a long while. I hope Sprint continues to come up with splendid phones.
 
I went in Radioshack the day after it came out (saturday) and looked at it and they didn't even act like it was that big of a deal and they weren't sold out but the guy kind of acted like an ass.

So I didn't get one there.

Stilling holding out for some reason not to get one.

I think I'm going to get it this weekend though.

Since this is still the official "RUMORS AND SPECULATION" thread - is the new speculation when Android 2.2 Froyo will be released?

I just saw a thread saying it might be released December.

Also - I'm enjoying the discussion about how the iPhone 4 compares. Should there be a new thread for iPhone 4 vs EVO instead of posting them in this rumors thread? Just a thought

Now that I have the EVO, I'm now actually going to buy apps and support the DEV's as we all should in our own way (EDIT*** by this I only meant my Hero was a tool to familerize myself with Android and didn't want to speand money just yet ***EDIT).... I bought Heavy Gunner and NOVA... I know, I know .... why did I buy NOVA, well it looks cool and it seems gameloft has pulled it's head outta the sand enough to know we need change.... However I digress... While playing NOVA I noticed A.)It doesn't seem to work over 4G (Bummer) B.) durring heavy action it gets a bit choppy.

As most all of us I love my EVO, so much so that I'm pissed that my wife can't have one right now, but I'm going to attempt the contest here and pray!!! My question: Can anything be done about the frame rate issue? Would restoring my phone and rooting it with Froyo help with that? I'd apprecite any help guys thanks. I'm going to post this in a help section, but figured the community always comes back here so... thanks again!
 
So im finally back for my business trip. My Wifys Evo and mine are boxed up in front of me to open up right this seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoa, little late to the part Novoken! People are posting all over the place! Let me just say, I think you will love your EVO. I know I do!!!
 
I know I love my EVO too. I have so much more to learn on it though and so many more apps to get. I want to configure all my home pages with my different scenes and it seems like it will take me forever. Friday is my off day and I hope to spend most of the day with my phone.
