email and led lights

on the motorola droid I have the sound and vibration both off for receiving emails into my multiple accounts. I figured, like with my previous blackberry, it would turn the green led light on the upper right corner a red color when a new email arrived, but it does not. is there any way to have it flash it a different color when a new mail arrives?

On mine the light is off when nothing is happening. It flashes green when I have a message or email when it is in sleep mode. It flashes red when the battery gets below 15%.
 
I have missed call and I see it for all sorts of notifications - except email....

Even in AM, it says:
Unique feature: Customizable LED / Sound / Vibrate / Repeat notification for missed calls.

+ the same for SMS, bluetooth, calendar, battery, airplane mode

yeah damn...i just opened it up to make sure and i didnt see it...but do you have notifications checked in the email settings? mine flashes green when i get an email
 
I have notifications set up in GMail, haven't set up a regular email account yet - but nothing so far, b/c there is nothing about LED settings in the GMail app....

Edit: Added the following

I spoke too soon - after the next sync I have green flashing LED, so it is working for GMail. Time to add a regular email account, methinks....
