I need help with bettercuts and adw too :(. For some reason Bettercuts has 3 options for "People" and none of them work in opening my contacts so i'm not sure what to do to change my people icon. The only one that works is adding it from the app selection and using the default icon.

ADW is giving me headaches because the bottom dock bar where you can put the 6 icons. Well i put 6 down there then start adding some on my home screen eventually when i have 2-3 spots left it says homescreen full and for some reason it starts moving my icons on the dock off the screen.

If anyone has any suggestions i'd appreciate it. This is really frustrating.
 
I like to keep things clean and simple. Adw.launcher with just three screens. Widgets are puremusic, beautiful home and calwidget

The last one is with the all apps screen open and the dock tab pulled up. The folders on the dockbbar are phone, games, media,travel and one for random stuff I use a lot but didn't fit in another category

I also haven't completely figured out Bettercut. There are only a handful you can edit like internet, phone, etc. So for the rest you have to "make your own?" Have no idea what to input in those fields. I don't know how the developer expects someone to know how to do this with no instructions at all.

Also, is adw extremely buggy for anyone else? It's very slow and constantly force closes.. Also when I open the app drawer most of the time the app icons are all stacked on top of each other so I have to wait about 30 seconds for them to populate normally to be able to access them. Keeps getting worse to the point where I don't think I'll be able to use it which sucks since I've customized the heck out of it.
 
I was but stopped and still fc's. Also deleted Beautiful Widget to see if that might be causing it as I didn't start using it until I stopped using Sense. Usually happens if I try to long press for any reason and sometimes just randomly. Also usually takes a very long time for the app shortcut option to open up.
 
Figured out Bettercut. The problem was the Activity section wasn't populating so it gave me no options. Now for some reason everything shows up.
 
I was on a hunt for the classic "You've Got Mail" vocal clip from AOL to use for my email notifications....well guess what,....I found it along with a host of other awesome email vocal clips! I thought I share this here first as everyone in this thread has seem to caught the customization bug. I will also post this link in the Android discussion section of the forum. Enjoy!!

The button at the bottom of ADW Launcher that says "Lab"... What is that for? I press it and it does nothing.

let me save you some trouble. When adding shortcuts, do it from the default launcher, always (download home switcher and use it to quickly go between launchers). Just drag them from the app drawer in defualt launcher to that homescreen. Once you have those set up you can go into bettercut and edit them there.


any other launcher beside the defualt will get duplicate icons, just delete the ones you dont want



and as far as the dock icons disappearing, when this happens, reset adw launcher (to do so you can go into adw settings, and enable and then disable hide icons , this will force restart adw)

youll get the hang of it its not hard. Wehn adding a new shortcut, always use defualt to do so. When simply changing icons for existing one you can stay in adw, BUT after you create the new icons, restart ADW and all problems are solved

thank you SOO much for replying i was really struggling. I cleared out the TON of app shortcuts on HTC Sense (I'm assuming by default thats the launcher you meant? Cause when i got ADW i had some option or something of making it my default? Is that right?).

Well i'm still stuck with bettercuts trying to make a contact/people shortcut. I can drag "people" off the app drawer or make a regular shortcut to it. That being said when i try and make it in Bettercuts people isn't listed under other available shortcuts. Under activity there are 3 different People's all with a subheading but none of the 3 work. I get on htc sense that the app is no longer installed and won't work on ADW either. Am i doing something horribly wrong?

almost

by default i dont mean sense, i really mean the default android launcher. Download home switcher from the market to make this easier. Fire that up and select "Launcher". This is the defualt android launcher, do your shortcut editing there, drag and drop the people shortcut straight from the app drawer then edit with bettercut.

believe me i understand, I got my phone a week early and it took that whole time to figure this stuff out
 
Holy shit man if i could give you like 20 thanks i would. That totally solved this problem for me. I have literally been trying to figure this out for the last 2 days after work for prolly a couple hours playing with the phone. Thank you thank you thank you. I'll post some pics of my screens when im done.
 
does anyone else feel like sense's scrolling is smoother than adw and launcher pro? i really like the bottom bars of adw and launcher pro but i just feel like it's laggier for some reason
 
What is this phone launcher? Mine is rounded up and can't figure out this one.

That's Espresso; it comes stock with Fresh Evo. It's preferable to stock Sense, IMO.
