YouMail app for visual voicemail

Since I am waiting to get my google voice invite, I am attempting to try this app. Has anyone been able to get it working on the Droid? When it dials the number to forward voice mails to the YouMail site I get a recording from Verizon to call Verizon customer service. Verizon customer service tells me to contact the app. While waiting for a response from the developer, does anyone here have any information? The code being used to attempt to forward voice mails is *71. Thanks for taking the time to look at this question.
 
i had the same issue...i logged into my youmail.com account on my computer and it gave me a different number to call...called it and viola it works :)

:D You are right. I used the alt number and got the same recording to contact tech support. Did not realize it was working since no one called me. Your reply made me test it and it seems to be working. Thanks.:D
 
I've been using youmail for a few months now and i started with it on Blackberry. It's a great app for both of these phones, but the interface on the droid is much better.

First things, first make sure you activate youmail for you number either through the website or your phones interface, under menu.

Next, you don't dial your voicemail number or forward anything, you simply dial youmails 712 number which is available on their website.

You can set your voicemail number to default to that if you'd like in the settings menu of the droid.
 
I had used YouMail for close to a year probably. I have my GV account now... so I've switched to that for my cell VM.
