Just sitting here at home today waiting for 'man in van' to deliver my new HTC Hero (contract from Orange in the UK) and scouting around the interweb for some where lively, friendly & helpful to hang out, learn a bit and hopefully contribute to ...... and this looks like the place

I've just escaped from a very dark place AKA Windows Mobile (Aaaarrrg!) and I'm now out in the sunshine breathing fresh air again. I'm really new to Android and basically know nothing so please be patient
but I will search before I ask ... promise.
Me? .... the wrong side of 50, based in south west UK, heavily into photography & music in about equal proportions + enjoy a good film and occasional beer or three (Mrs davethetog says I have a weird interpretation of 'occasional'
