How to quit apps

Multitasking is great, but shouldn't quitting an app be a simple thing? Shouldn't "exit" or "quit" be an option in the menu?
 
See that's what I'm talking about. If you have to get an app to be able to quit other apps, that's a serious problem.

I've tried many apps, none have an exit option. Unless you're talking about a different "menu" that I am...

Edit: Pandora has a quit option. So its up to the developer to include an option to quit the app? Score another one for Apple...
 
I have exit options under some of the apps I use. Sometimes its under menu > more.

Some apps simply don't need an exit option though. If it's not being used it doesn't take up CPU power. If android needs the memory it will kill the apps that aren't being used.
 
I use 'Multi Task Manager' ... pops up at the bottom of the screen like the new iPhone4 (*gasp*) multi task. I don't like app killers, but its nice to just pop it up and quit something.

I also use System, but that's mostly for monitoring
 
I should make a permanent paste that states each time that on the Android O.S. there is no reason to stop an application. There is plenty of discussion about this under the Battery sticky, so I won't repeat it here.
 
Actually, most apps without a Sign Out, Quit, or Exit menu option will probably exit if you just hit Back until you're back at your home screen. If you hold Home and see the app in the six-icon popup, I believe that popup includes apps that were most recently open, whether they're still running or not, so that doesn't necessarily mean it's still running - compare to the running apps and tasks in Manager to check.
 
I added the Running Services icon to my Home screen area and I can usually kill any app there. If thats really killing it. =P

Most apps that does not have a quit option will quit automatically when you hit the back button. ;)
