Help Samsung Galaxy S - Indian thread

Hi All,

I wanted to know if this phone is available in india, its price, specification etc, hence starting this new thread specilly for india users and owners of this phone ....
 
Great! I am from India too! The phone was officially launched on 16th June. But its not available in the market yet! I'm waiting eagerly! I'm hearing that it will be available from next week! Keeping my fingers crossed! :)
 
lack of camera flash and no TV out option is the only 2 downside I see so far...waiting for this to come out in market but price will matter ... any idea on price INR ?
 
There is TV out on this set! The official MRP is 31.5k.. Will be a bit lower once it hits the shops!
 
I own a samsung omnia 2, very good hardware but the propretory samsung software is not good at all, after reading through all the reviews, they say the same for galaxy s, I love the sense ui on htc desire, but samsung s has more powerful hardware,, confusion :)

I need an android phone, stuck between HTC Desire and galaxy s ???

Me too waiting for the phone in Bangalore. If you don't like Touch Wiz 3.0 on the Galaxy S then you can install and use ADW Launcher. Anyways some people say that Touch Wiz 3.0 is a big improvement over its predecessor and prefer it over Sense ui. Its all perspective, so you can get the galaxy s and choose b/w TW 3.0 and the sense like ui of ADW launcher. Hope this lessens your confusion :)
 
I thought so too, LauncherPro is another good iption,,, guys let us know what price you [paid and your experience with the phone :)
 
i am also from india and waiting for this mobile. i contact samsung to know the availabilty of samsung galaxy s in stores ,they gave dealers name from my area to contact them to know this info(i am from southern india,tamilnadu,coimbatore),when i contacted delaer from coimbatore they said it will be avilable within end of this month in stores.
i also asked them second time to confirm whether it be in stores by end of this month,they replied"if not worst case in first week of july"..anybody here contact ur local retiler shop pls share ur info..thak u guys
 
This is the reply I got from "Sangeetha Mobiles" Bangalore:

"Thank you for communicating with SANGEETHA, and as per your interest the Samsung i9000 still we haven't received the stock from the distribution, and we are expecting the stock in the 1st week of July and as soon as we receive the stock we will inform you through the regarding the pricing."
 
Just saw an AD on TV for the Galaxy S and it said its available in select stores in India. Wonder which stores? Still see nothing on the samsung India website.
 
well. samsung india mobile website does not even tell about Omnia 2 still....they are bad at updating indian site,

btw where did you see the TV Ad ? which channel ?
