Swype Trial Period Ended?!?! wtf

How to Activate Swype:
Go to the phone's Settings choose Locale & text and check the box next to Swype
Go into any application in which you enter text (messaging, email, contacts, etc)
Press and hold your finger in any field where you enter text
Wait until the pop up appears, press Input Method, and select Swype
Just an FYI incase others are in need.

Swype gets released for Android tomorrow. Yes, Swype for everyone! That's why the links are being removed everywhere pretty much. Suffer one more day then you won't have to worry about it anymore

The file size of the Swype Beta is 49,703 bytes
The file size of the 1.56 version is 2,628,965 bytes.
I am running 1.56.
I just signed up and got the official BETA. Really painless process, took all of 5 minutes (while eating at the same time) 
I'd like to join the chorus of people wondering WHY DON'T THEY JUST RELEASE IT FOR SALE IN THE MARKET AND MAKE A BUNDLE?!?! So far every "beta" or leaked version has worked perfectly for me, and I'm not sure of what they think needs to be ironed out before an "official" release. I don't know about anyone else, but without swype, I can no longer really use my phone effectively. It'd be about the only APP I WOULD pay for in the market.
Oh well... the longer it stays in "beta" the longer we don't have to cough up $$$. Their loss.

Got this off their FAQ:
This message means that you may have your brower in "desktop mode", or are using something other than the Android default browser (like Skyfire or Opera Mini). To turn the Mobile View setting back on in the Android browser - Open your browser settings (click menu > more > settings) and locate the option for "Mobile view." Click the checkmark next Mobile View if it is unchecked and retry the download link from your email. If the setting is enabled and you are still getting this error, please email androidbeta@swype.com.

I asked the nice folks at SWYPE if, because I could never load the download page, does that mean I won't be able to get a copy. They responded:
Same interface, but it seems to actually be a bit smoother now. Also, the blue trace line seems to be thinner than the previous version. Course, that just might be my eyes playing trix.
Just glad to have Swype back... I'll never type text messages again (if I can help it)!

after the recent expiration of the old beta had expired, I downloaded from one of the links on here before they were removed, from ppholek, i believe. It seems like it was modified from the evo or something, had a white keyboard. It worked fine though. The other day I received the official beta copy from Swype and it was different, has the black keyboard and the blue (or is it green?) trace line. It seems to be a lot thinner as well. I miss my purple themed swype ;(
Does anyone know if there is a way to move the suggestion box around? This is the only thing I don't like about Swype. I prefer the way Shapewriter does it, so it doesn't cover up what I'm typing. I could have sworn I saw somewhere that it could be moved, but I can't seem to find the post..... and I can't figure out how to move it.
ok someone please help cos im going out my mind without swype. i got an email saying that the update was available so i clicked the link on the email nd got the update which worked fine, main difference from what i could see was that the trace line is thinner. then a couple of days later i got the popup saying that my version had expired which i thought was weird. i installed again but the same thing happened nd its happened again since iv reinstalled. i saw that someone posted a link in this thread but its been removed. where the hell can i get a version of swype that will work?! thanks in advance. iv got an unrooted htc hero on orange

It's the one I used... did you remember to uninstall the previous version of Swype from your phone first? I didn't and it glitched on me, but after I cleaned up my applications all was well. I actually uninstalled the installer as well and started from scratch with that link and it all went smoothly.

Thank god I am not the only one that noticed the thinner line.

Blue trace line? Mine is green. ;-) But yes, I noticed it's thinner. And I'm sad they disabled the vibration option.

mine looks and vibrates just like the older version.... vibrate is in the swype settings, although i do not know of an option to change color of the line, its blue on mine.
