Two really dumb questions: MMS outbox, setting notification sounds

OK, I just got my Droid yesterday, and I'm feeling really lame about a couple of things.

1.) I can't seem to find an outbox for sent MMS messages. Is there a way to see what MMSs you've sent and if they were received or not? (On my old phone, a Chocolate 3, you could check to see if MMSs to Verizon customers had been received or not.)

2.) I have been able to set mp3s as ringtones, but not as notification sounds (for texts, etc.) What am I missing here? Is there a special folder I need to save them in? (I have them in one called "ringtones" right now, for lack of better ideas... which is actually kind of annoying, as Music picks them up and plays them in shuffle mode.)

well for the first question your messages app is threaded as in the mms outbox inbox sms inbox and outbox are all the same window for each conversation as for the second im not sure sorry

Well, I've sent MMS messages to Flickr and Twitpic, and neither are showing up anywhere in the messages app. That's why I got confused. I checked, and the picture send did go through. Any ideas of where they might be, if not in my messages box?
 
Hey, making sounds for notifications and alarms is easy.

1. Plug the phone into your computer via USB cable.
2. MOUNT the phone (drag down the top menu of the phone after plugging in, option to mount should be right there)
3. Create a folder on the SDcard called notifications
4. Create a folder on the SDcard called alarms
5. Create a folder on the SDcard called ringtones
6. Copy said files into folder.
7. Dismount the phone.

yea i dunno man i haven't sent pics pics to those 2 places you have just to other phones and they show up in the sms chat

So are you saying by this post that if I would do the above I would be able to have the same ringtone play when I get a text message or an email that I presently am hearing on my LG phone.

I have not purchased the Droid yet because of this. I was talking to someone from Verizon yesterday and they told me that I would no longer be able to hear a ringtone for an email coming through or a text message.

Considering that maybe this is more like a computer and that I cannot hear a tune on my computer when I get an email, I was wondering if this Verizon person was correct.

This might seem like a small thing, but I need to know this for sure before I purchase the Droid.

so any help with this question would be appreciated.
 
You can also get the app "ringdroid" and that will let you record a part of a song in your music files and save it to ring tones or notifications.

Aha! I figured out how to mount the phone (that's how I got the ringtones folder in the first place) but I guess I hadn't figured out the magic folder names for the notifications and alarms. Thanks!! :-)

It just played since I got a voice mesage so I don't know why it won't with me turning on my phone. I'm a Star Trek fan and I want it to play " We are the Borg. Resistance is Futile. You will be assimilated.
