*** Official Motorola Droid X Pre-Release Thread***

So, now I'm thinking about it..... do I pre-order (if/when available) or go to the store the morning of? Getting it early morning instead of waiting for fedex/ups seems appealing. Either way I will probably take the day off work. :D

I'm not gonna get rid of my Eris because its approx 6 days old and has all my custom roms on it. The Eris Dev community is amazing and will keep that phone up to date for quite a long time

The devs are awesome for it, but root seems to be quite a way off (for leak + refurb phones).

I haven't dealt with Verizon in years. If I just want to buy the phone without a plan or contract, will Verizon/retail stores sell just the phone to me? Or will I have to wait for listings on ebay/craigslist/forums to pop up?

Thanks.

You can buy the phone full retail but the pricing for it is unknown atm probably $549 but you'll need a plan the phone won't work on any other network.

Nice find! TI OMAP 3630-1000 ?? What happened to the 3640, interesting...

Supports class 6 flash media, lets hope the preinstalled 16gb card is class 6!
Considering how it says 3630-1000 has me thinking the processor comes in different speeds and thats why wikipedia shows it at 720Mhz I doubt they are overclocking it, it's just designed to run at 1Ghz.

Is it bothering anyone else that the guy reviewing the Droid X on engadget is freaking poking the screen. It looks like he is jabbing the screen at first, I was thinking it was going to break it.

Every time I saw him touch the screen it looks like it is pecking at it. I don't really know a good way to describe it. Just wondering if anyone else thought so as well?

The new MOTOBLUR is sexy.

Time to spend the next 10 minutes deleting all the emails I've gotten from people posting on this thread!
