What's the earliest Verizon has ever started pre-orders? Like when was the original Droid available for pre-order?

Might help narrow down when we can expect to drop our hard earned money on this thing. :p
 
im pretty sure pre orders started right after the announcement.. because the following friday is when they went on sale not positive though

This is gonna get expensive. It will run me an additional $130 for everything listed but I'll probably get a better case. I'm pretty sure the original Droid's dock was and still is only $30 along with the car mount being the same amount. Why do we have to pay more 7 months later?

UPDATE: Here's a better rundown of accessories from AndroidCentral...including some from Verizon. I'm all over the leather case with kickstand!

Anyone have any idea how likely a UK version of this is and when it would likely be released? I know they said it is US only but someone pointed out to me that it could be released as a milestone 2 or something in the UK as the original Droid was released as the Milestone.
 
Yeah me too, there was some official verizon accessory list I saw that had them at 24.99 of something like that. I would much rather pay 5 bucks. Thanks for the help.
 
Looks like the verizon hdmi cable is $20, the dock is $50 and I believe I saw that it includes a cable. That would make sense as to why it is more then the original droid dock which was $30 ($30 for dock $20 for cable = $50 for droid x dock)
 
Haha this is by far the funniest comment i've read regarding a front facing camera, for the record, i don't care for the FFC

This is nuts. I had the Eris and loved it but of course I got impatient waiting for the PROMISED 2.1. So, I had to have the Incredible. Now I am comfortable with the DI and waiting for Froyo. Then I read where the Eris is being discontinued without ever getting the 2.1. And then I read where VZW has slated the DI for discontinuance as well. WTF? OK, I understand the business side of things but there's a lot of people out there with these phones and I think VZW stinks for doing this. So, I'm looking at the X now as maybe the one that can weather the growing pains of Android without being shelved before it gets warm. The upside is that I put my DI on Craigslist for $350 and was swamped with offers the first day even though I mentioned I wouldn't sell it until the 2nd week of July. Crazy. Guess I'll be getting the X. And you can bet I'll pre-order it the minute it's available after seeing what happened to the DI and all the backorders.

Possibly not but there are viable reasons for VZW to do it. I hope they don't and I know there's several other forums discussing the pic of VZW's internal PhaseOut/Close Out device list as being real or fake. I personally think they are going to drop it because of the huge factor of HTC's depleted inventory.
 
Just lower the price on it. Make it similar to that of the Droid with the Droid X being the top dog at a higher price. Give people the option of switching their orders on the DI to the X with the price difference (assuming the DI is still out of stock, which I Think it is).

They are saying the DI will be available in July. Hmmm, what a coincidence...right around the time the X is supposed to hit. I feel for the ones been waiting all this time for the DI and locked into an order for something rumored to be discontinued. I like your idea about the pricing but will VZW give a darn about it? I doubt it.
 
It's actually kind of disappointing. Everyone was SO excited for the DI prior to launch and the few months following. Now look at it, word of discontinuation.
 
I highly doubt the Incredible is being discontinued it's been a big seller for Verizon they are only discontinuing the old SKU, the packaging that was in the white box and didn't say Droid Incredible, it just said HTC Incredible and didn't come with a 2GB card.

@pants

If the dock come with the HDMI cable like some have said then I am going that route cause I want the dock for alarm clock purposes. I have gotten to used to my droid and its dock not to have a dock. Plus I get 25% off accessaries at verizon so that will help a little bit.
