It uses up a higher percentage than the screen. I love the app but it kills my battery. All syncing and updating is disabled but it still sucks battery. Any way to fix this other than just using the website?

I unlocked and rooted my GN. I flashed the 4.0.4 radios on my stock rom and then downloaded the franco kernel updater from the market. I ran it and picked autoflash but it just gets stuck at the google boot screen. Couldn't get past it until I restored my back up. What am I doing wrong?
