At the top of every page here is a link called User CP - aka the user control panel.

Once there, on the left panel, is the link to Edit Profile Picture

You can add a signature once you have 50 posts, not entirely sure (just can't remember!) if that also applies to profile pictures or not.

    Hope this helps! :)

    (PS - texas13made, sent you a PM)
Hey sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do you set your profile picture? i can't figur it out. (i don't wanna do a gif. like you"
Thanks for the reply, u r a huge help. I will look up the stock rooted rom and the diff netarchy kernels and follow the steps in the rooting for dummies thread. Pre she ate it
Hi AM2, many thanks for the kind words.

Personally, I'm happy with the stock rooted rom and a netarchy kernel.

Have you tried following the Rooting For Dummies thread in the Evo All Things Root forum?

In my opinion, the best thing is just to start with a stock rooted setup, get used to the ins and outs of doing nandroid backups and restores, playing with the netarchy kernel versions, and then branching out if you like to other roms. Eating the apple in bites, in other words.

I started out that way and stayed so happy I never moved on to one of the more advanced roms - I just like stock, I guess.

Let me know if this really answers your questions! :)
Hi earlymon, I follow your posts and to me you are one of the most knowledgeable sources of info on android forums. I'm ready to root my evo, but after reading much of the info in all things root, I'm still somewhat overwhelmed. With the rooting process evolving daily, and the roms, kernels, etc always changing, it's hard to settle on something when you have a wealth of dated info mixed in with current versions. I was hoping you could point me in the right direction based on the functionality I'd like.

I'd like to retain all the functionality of my evo , including 4g. My reason for wanting to root is to gain hotspot/ wireless tethering over 3G,4g, or both, and to be able to remove bloatware during the process if possible and not too difficult. I've read that mikfroyo is pretty stable and a good option, and the netarchy kernel seems to be popular. In your opinion, what Combination should I use to get what I'd like from my evo. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer
As I recall, the Flyer is still at Gingerbread - and I'm not sure but I think it's a capacitive screen, allowing both finger and stylus. (?)

    Thanks for the Win vids!!
Thank you for the video. I saw the HTC flyer before but not that video.

From all I saw though, Honeycomb is not ready for prime time yet. But I am sure in the next 6 months they will put the pieces together. After all, Google is not what you would call a tradional Operating System development house.

Stylus capability is nice. Here is a MS video showing some new Windows devices. One of them is a tablet with a stylus. The other devices in the video are intersting too. Unfortunately there is no full use of the resistive screen in Windows yet - especially the applications are still dumb. But I am sure with Windows 8 that will change.

Yes, I remember the context from your first posts here, but that clarifies with more detail. :)

I really appreciate the opportunity to see your findings!

I'm downloading the zip now, will post back.
Hi, as addendum to our previous conversation I would like to share with you a presentation I developed for my local computer club (700 members). For convenience I give you the link from my home forum - then I do not have to explain the context again: Technology update 2011 - Windows 7 Forums

On the last page - chart 45 (before the "That's All") I make reference to this forum and recommend that club members make use of it. If you watch the video of Chapter8 you will hear what I am going to say about the forum.

If you have any questions/comments, let me know, WHS
Thank you so much for your post on my profile. I try to keep my pictures updated each time I modify anything. I feel that it will allow people to ask and comment on them. Allowing all of us to continue to modify our phones to the best of our knowledge! BTW, You are so awesome! I love reading your posts, Always.
Hi Slick1020 - first - hope you're well!! Are you back?

This thread has helped many more than you may know - I've sent Evo Shift and Desire HD users here - probably others. And people are buying new Evos everyday. :)

Site Admin (read: my boss) has asked that instead of stickies in the bigger forums, everything ought conform to each forum having a reference sticky with all of the important threads listed there.

This thread holds that place of honor in - HTC Evo 4G Tips & Tricks Guide Updated 8:53PST Sept 9, 2010
Didn't know my Battery Tweaks thread has helped so many people. How about making it a sticky in the HTC EVO 4G main room EarlyMon, so people don't have to search for this thing.
    Sir? I work for a living. ;)

I have an 0002 and I'm perfectly happy. Sorry, don't recall which rev the white ones hit with.

    Welcome to the forums!
Hello sir. I have a question and hope you would be kind enough to answer. Should I pursue the 0004 hardware model instead of settling with the 0003 model that I just got from sprint? Is it true that the white evo comes with the 0004 hardware only?

    Thanks
