unzip it on your PC then move the unzipped file to to your sdcard to install

Can you please tell me how can i intall the application in my Sony Ericsson X10i which I have downloaded on PC in ZIP format. I tried to rename the folder from .zip to .apk (firle type shawn as WINRAR ZIP ARCHIVE)P and saved it in my SD but I can not see the application in application installer..Please help me
