I come from the Samsung family and its handy hardware button at the bottom (I like it, seems others don't) to turn the screen on/off
Moving to the new Nexus 7 with no such button, are there any other ways to turn the screen on/off besides the power button?
(I did find an app called "Shake...
I know this might be too soon, but I do hope there'll be some really good, snug, and multi-functional cases/stands/covers for the 8.0".
I see positive feedback specifically for this model (pro reviews, customer reviews), so I hope this caches on and attract some good case makers for it...

Hey guys, I'm looking at a future Nexus 7 (next version) purchase. The lack of built-in micro-SD slot is going to be sore spot.
I am aware that there are a lot of OTG-USB cable options out there, but it's not my idea of an ideal solution. Browsing and watching on the tablet with an unsightly...
I've been using Lux to have nice auto-brightness control on my S3, and it was working just fine. But as of a few days ago, it suddenly stopped working. The screen stayed at a constant level no matter how bright or dim it was around me.
I tried to uninstall Lux and see if the built-in Auto...

Hi guys,
I've been struggling with an apparently very obscure issue with my S3, and I've searched the web far and wide with no luck so far. I'm hoping to try a different approach - asking other S3 owners to see if you can purposely recreate my problem. If it turns out that it can't be...
My previous phone was a Droid X, and now the S3. I actually miss the hardware buttons from the DX.
Apparently there's a lot of hate for having physical buttons on a smartphone, which I don't get. They provide the response speed, tactile feedback, and feeling of assuredness that soft-keys...
With my old Droid X, I've modded it with a Circle Battery icon in the notification bar - something that looks like this:

I'm a little confused by the inclusion of both of the following in my app tray:
Google Now
Voice Search
I've been comfortable using the "Voice Search" app so far - just bring it up, and say something.
With Google Now, it seems after I boot it up, I have to say "Google..." first, and then it...
This is a very strange problem I'm experiencing on my S3.

But, whenever I pull-down my notification screen and click...
So in my quest to maximize the battery life on my S3, I discovered that one of the main of battery hogs is surfing the web, where there are lots of bright/white backgrounds. Apparently this is a weakness of AMOLED screens.

I've been keeping an eye on my battery usage over the last couple days, using GSAM.
I've already isolated many rouge apps and processes and disabled them whenever possible.
However, there's one culprit that I seemingly couldn't get a handle on - Maps. I've already done as much as I could...
This may be more of a curiosity, but is there a way to toggle 4G separately from 3G/2G on this phone?
The "Mobile Data" switch as far as I know controls all of those at once.
Even if it were possible, is it necessary to get that level of control? Are there situations where turning off 4G...
So I just downloaded and tried out FoxFi, and to my pleasant surprise it totally works, seemingly without any hassles, on my Galaxy S3 (JB 4.1.2, rooted). I migrated my unlimited data plan over from my previous phone, but I do not have Verizon's mobile hotspot functionality on that plan.
