Help Navigation shortcuts not working

The instructions you follower are 4 years old. I don't even get create a shortcut by long pressing the home screen. Android has changed a lot in just the last couple of years. This may no longer work.

That's very strange for your phone. Are you running a rom? When I long-press the home screen, "Shorcut" is one of the options, within it "Maps and Navigation" is one of the suboptions. So it's definitely still there.

It is a useful feature and no reason for Google to remove it.

If only it didn't force-close when I try it...

I can create a shortcut from the homescreen, but I'm using Nova. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I am on Stock 4.1.1.
When I long press I get Home screen>Set Wallpaper, Add to Home screen>Apps and Widgets and Folder.
As for it being a useful feature and Google not having a reason to remove it, Google has removed a lot of useful features that should not have been removed. Mass Storage for one was very useful but was remove with the ICS update.

So is it an android limitation or a samsung one mate? As someone said, Nova launcher defo still has the option

HTC phones have this feature, even my One X with Jelly Bean :)
I'm going to create a shortcut with Google Navigation and see how it work.

Update: ... done, no probs :)
