I'm using an older MIUI rom for Triumph which has square colored backgrounds for each app's icon. Is there a way to remove these and just go back to normal icons?

I want to get MIUI on my phone, but I want to backup apps and its data first so I don't have to start all over. Is this possible? How do I do it? Thanks :) EDIT: I'll try that Titanium Backup.
