Root MIUI rom - remove icon backgrounds?

I'm using an older MIUI rom for Triumph which has square colored backgrounds for each app's icon. Is there a way to remove these and just go back to normal icons?

You can download a theme and just apply it to the icons

I'm using these MIUIv4 icons. They theme a bunch of apps icons and any ones that aren't themed have the background removed.
