Finger print reader reliability

I really hope Samsung gets this right in terms of reliability. Every smartphone I've ever owned including my current Note 8 has worked for a time and then become unreliable to the point where I've abandoned using it.

My Sammy S8+ does a lousy job of reading fingerprints. Face recognition is iffy at best as well. I hope there are improvements in both of the new Note 10s

my note 8 works great. sure from time to time i have to keep at it with my fingerprint before it unlocks but 9 time out of 10 it works great. so i think that the note 10 should have no issues. plus being in the middle should make it easy to use your finger. on the note 8 with a case it can be harder.

I find the fingerprint reader on my s7e to be really reliable. It definitely took a little while to find the knack though.

I've had no issues with the fingerprints on the S5 or the S7e...

Not used any of the rear mounted scanners, but I'm pleased it's back on the front.

I'm a bus driver, and seeing passengers struggle to scan their fingerprint on the back of the phone while paying contactlessly on our awkwardly shaped machines put me off them.

My S8+ has a home unlock feature that I enjoy. It's likely common across many devices. If I'm home, it's unlocked... and I like. My phone never leaves my pocket unless I'm using it. I went years without any lock downs enabled. I only employed the feature on my current phone because it often opened multiple apps while in my pocket. I would be unaware they were open until my streamed audio would start messing up. I would remove my phone from my pocket to find I had started dozen of texts of random letter gibberish, my email app open, and dozen of other apps open. Locking the screen eliminated the problem but I do miss just swiping or pushing a button to open the phone.

Any improvements in unlocking the phone will be welcomed.
