@dan why would you need a scanner for scratch off tickets? One might read this post and think you're trying to maybe get an upper hand on some scratch off tickets and that can lead to serious trouble. States with gambling don't take kindly to people trying to one up them. Stores that sell tickets scratch off and lottery tickets have scanners authorized by the state, I wouldn't trust anything from the play store

And I have thousands of scratch off tickets ????

Yes I have alot off scratch offs . I just get the stink eye every time I go in a store with that many scratch off ticks. I PROMISE I'M NOT UP TO ANYTHING illegal or immoral.

I just don't want to walk in a store with that many scratch offs. It's unsafe.

Oh and I'm just looking for a lottery scanning app on my phone.
So what to see if your tickets or scratch off are winners??? I don't know why you need an app for scratch offs it seems pretty simple, get three matching symbols or dollar amounts and win what ever the price is, I don't see how an app will help.I live Nevada we don't have the lotto or scratch offs. I know in California and Arizona any amount I believe up to $500 you can collect in a store , $500 and above I believe you have to go to an official office. We occasionally take road trips to Arizona to buy Powerball tickets

I know exactly what you mean! I don't see why they would think you're a scam. I often let my scratch offs pile up and it's tiresome to scratch so many at one time. The GA lottery offers their own phone app. With my GA scratch offs I can just scratch off the barcode at the bottom and scan my ticket. It will tell me how much I won or it will say "better luck next time" and I don't have to scratch all those individual spaces. It also works for their Powerball, cash 4, etc..
Haven't found a legit one for SC. I heard they had one, but it was short lived bc it made it too easy for ppl to realize they were sitting old tickets with money to cash in and ppl started redeeming their tickets. Hope this helps!

Don't know about the particular lottery the OP is referring to. But some lotteries do provide a way of quickly verifying if a scratch-off code is a winner or not, like might on their websites where you just enter the card's number, or the lottery has an app and that can scan a scratch-off number or barcode.

I'm surprised any US State would release that kind of Information to anyone except an authorized lottery retailer. Regular folks like me who buy scratch tickets can usually tell if they won. At least I think they do.

A lot of people buy scratch offs and just scan them in the store. He just wants to scan them at home because he has so many. He can only scan a ticket he bought, I don't know where all the cheating confusion is coming from.

Actually it is legal in every state. Most states have the scanners on there state sites. I like using them because I can scan my Power Ball tickets to make sure if they are winners or to check tickets from a few weeks ago. Also I have had problems with store clerks lieing and saying the ticket wasn't a winner when I know they were and lost my winnings because of it. Also if I have a lot of tickets that I do not want to stand in line to check I can use my phone.

I found a scanner for Canada for iOS and Android. Not sure if there's one for South Carolina. BTW, welcome to Android Forums. Sorry for all the cross talk about the legality of this. You're cool. I mean, the topic is cool... you may be a big square for all I know! :p (kidding) Welcome!
