Oven cleaning made less toxic

I had to use Easy Off for now. Man, that stuff is strong. I had to go outside for a while. Even with repeated spraying, I couldn't get rid of all the crud. I finally resorted to Soft Scrub with bleach and a razor blade. That at least got most. Then there were the racks. They're a lot cleaner now, but there's still some left. What do I try next?

I've heard that wadded up tinfoil works well as an abrasive tool for cleaning grill bars. I have never tried it.
My go to has always been an abrasive cleaner applied with an abrasive cleaning sponge or scouring pad.
However, I've never dealt with extremely dirty racks before.

Sorry if I'm late to the party but if you'll Google diy oven cleaners you'll find several different ways but I do the baking soda/white vinegar trick. Sprinkle in bottom of oven and for top and sides make a soda and water paste and paint it on. Squirt vinegar on applied soda. When it stops bubbling, wipe and you're done.
If it's really gross (they usually are) put a pie pan of water in a 225° oven for about 30 minutes. That steams it a little. Cool oven and then do the soda and vinegar. One hour tops.
