Hi maksudcs!

If you are referring to the Network Signal Info app then I am not surprised as this does not work with all modems and can mis-report signals and status. You could always flash, as you are rooted, a different modem to your phone. See the, "Modems - Dummies Guide".

Alternatively, you can get basic information regarding your signal by going to...

Settings > About device (phone) > Status > Signal strength

Details of signal strength readings and what they mean are shown in the Dummies Guide, linked above.

If you created a nandroid backup before flashing JellyBam, restore it and it would fix your IMEI.

I once had an IMEI / MEID of null / null (dial *#06# to check) and restoring my nandroid backup did the trick.

Did this problem coincide with the installation of the custom firmware? The reason I ask is that...

suggests that your /efs partition may be corrupt.

Btw, I've moved this to the All-Things-Root sub-forum as it concerns JellyBam.

Thanks Slug old bean. I totally got that one round my neck and missed the efs file thing completely. I was on a totally different planet. :stupido2:

Thanks

To flash the original firmware for your phone's CSC code, see under, "My firmware is not eligible for ICS yet but I want it now!", in post #1, here.

Latest stock, Samsung firmware for Bangladesh is Android 4.0.4, ICS, I9100XWLPW for model GT-i9100. Make sure you back everything up before flashing.

Dear all,
i'm kind of desperate at this moment.
I have a galaxy s2 international version gt-i9100 and have bought it unlocked as there are no carrier plans in my country. Benn using it with ICS and CM9 and even updated to jellvbean CM10 with the nightlies. As of yesterday i updated to the newest nightly and upon restart it gave me the message "Sim Network Unlock Pin" and i can see the networks but i cant register on them so basically i don't have a phone. I tried flashing the old nightly that was working previously but the message persisted.
I downloaded multiple stock jelly beans (I9100XWLS8 and i9100XXLSJ) but no effect, i even thought maybe install a custom ROM on top of them (AOKP) but still no luck. I went through the forums and tried all the suggested solutions such as the galaxy s unlocker but didn't work and i downloaded an update zip file which i then flashed but still the message keeps popping.
Any ideas what to try?

I am sorry to say maksudcs that I agree with Slug's comment in post #3...

suggests that your /efs partition may be corrupt.

This thread explains all about the /efs file and its importance.

If you have a nandroid backup made prior to flashing JellyBam, as per SCPadgeebar's post #4, this could restore your /efs file...

If you created a nandroid backup before flashing JellyBam, restore it and it would fix your IMEI.

I once had an IMEI / MEID of null / null (dial *#06# to check) and restoring my nandroid backup did the trick.

Normally, a corrupt /efs file requires attention from a Samsung Service Point if you have not got a good nanadroid backup or a saved copy of your /efs file to fall back on.

I use an app, free from the Play Store, called GSII Repair to backup and restore my /efs file in case of such an emergency. This app also has a repair feature which, "MAY", be able to repair your file although it is very much a last option before taking it to be repaired and I have never used it.

My phone has that problem all the time and so far this trick has fixed it every time. Plug it into the charger and reboot. When it comes back it connects to the network.

I have a Moto G from 2016 that had the same issue("error while searching for network"). The problem, of course, was that the cellular radio had somehow turned off, and refused to turn back on again. I tried all the solutions suggested by Google search results with the exception of flashing any chips, which I really wanted to avoid. I kind of figured it really was a software issue that manifested overnight. Anyway, about a week later, I ran across a Youtube video which provided a solution that worked like a charm for me. I think this might help a lot of frustrated people with the same problem. The video is in Hindi, but I think it's clear enough that you can figure out the steps he talks about. Here's a link to the video:
