I've thought for decades that a speed limiter linked to GPS would be a simpler solution. "Our car will allow you to speed but will report you to the cops" seems a very strange approach.

Of course most patents never see the light of day as products.

If Ford actually goes through with this, they have enough money to get a law written to make it a criminal offense to alter, remove or turn the system off.
