Fatalities 2024

If I may pay an early tribute to the wonderful Teri Garr, who has very sadly passed away at 79.

Remember her in Young Frankenstein, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Tootsie and Friends!
I loved her in everything she did.

A unique and wonderful personality with funny mannerisms, and I mean just a delight to watch. She was always very beautiful.

Will be very sorely missed.
Wow this one comes as a shocko_O:saddroid: I remember her from a lot of movies in the 80s
Rest in Peace.

American travel writer and founder of Frommer’s, Arthur Bernard Frommer died yesterday at the age of 95, presumably from old age.

RIP, Mr. Frommer, and congrats on a career doing something that you loved that also helped others enjoy travel. Condolences to your family, friends and loved ones.

Sometimes-controversial pastor Tony Campolo died yesterday at the age of 89. Whatever positions he took on myriad topics, he always emphasized the importance of a personal, abiding relationship with Jesus.

RIP, Mr. Campolo, with condolences to your friends, family and loved ones. I hope you heard the words you longed to hear when you reached Heaven.

Michael Cole, a busy actor but probably best known from the old TV show “The Mod Squad” (and the last surviving member of the regular cast), died on December 10th at the age of 84.

RIP, Mr. Cole, and thanks for sharing your talents. Condolences to your fans, friends, family and loved ones.

I also just learned that Earl Holliman died November 25th at the age of 96. He was in a lot of things (I was just pointing him out to my wife when we were watching “Gunfight at the OK Corral” just a few days ago) and had a very distinctive voice. He is probably best known/remembered for his role in the Angie Dickinson drama, “Police Woman.”

RIP, Mr. Holliman, and thanks for sharing your talents. Condolences to your fans, friends, family and loved ones.

Jean Jennings (nom de plume Lindamood) died yesterday from complications of Alzheimer’s. She was 70.

Folks who read (past tense) automotive publications will surely recognize her name; she certainly knew how to share a story.

RIP, Ms. Jennings, and thanks for so many great tales. Condolences to your family, friends, fans and loved ones.

Excellent obit from her first automotive writing gig: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a63202068/jean-jennings-obituary/
