Actress Betty Bridges (she was also Todd Bridges’ mom) died August 27 in Phoenix. She was 83 and had been in hospice care.

Sergio Mendes has died at 83. He had been sick with long Covid and a respiratory illness since 2023.

He had a particular sound that crossed a lot of boundaries and I enjoyed listening to his music.

RIP, Mr. Mendes, and thanks for the music. Condolences to your family, friends, fans and loved ones.

One of my first 8 track tapes was Sergio Mendes and Brazil 66. It was a gift from my older sister. I have seven of his songs in my digital library. I agree that he had a unique sound and it was easy to get caught up in. RIP and thanks very much for the tunes.
