I'm always ready for some baseball. I don't get excited about the trades and the signing. In fact, I don't pay any of it much attention. I'll be rooting for the Royals no matter what sort of team they put on the field. I'd like to have another winning season. I'd like to see a bit of post season. I enjoy the game. I don't have to dominate to watch.... which is obvious with me being a long time Royals fan. :)

The baseball package is a must for me. I root for the Royals and they rarely make local TV because they aren't any good. For the last three years, DirecTV has gifted me the package because of my viewer loyalty to them. I will admit it is one of the major reasons I have not moved on. I will wait to see if they are so generous this year, and if not, I'll subscribe. I owe them. Besides, sports is about all I watch and baseball is my favorite sport. Gotta have it!

It's such a time investment, from my perspective. I don't know if I want to spend the whole season "all in."

I understand. Before retiring I had obligations to consume much of my leisure time. Retirement has changed that. I look forward to a home based activity that doesn't represent a great expense and consumes a time that is otherwise short on entertainment. Sports, especially baseball, does well to fill in the gaps.

I'm still hoping against hope the DirecTv will grace me with the baseball package. If not, I'll subscribe. I owe them for gifting me the last three seasons. In trying to get an early baseball fix I have been watching NCAA baseball. I think it's sad that their games are rarely live on TV. I can watch the games on ESPN Plus or watch yesterday's games on ESPN Demand. I don't have a team I give a hoot to root for but I've been watching games for something to watch. I've seen some talent and I've seen some sorry baseball. I saw a pitcher jerked today after he walked one and was walking another. Right in the middle of the at bat they changed pitchers... not hurt... not ejected... just had enough of his lousy pitching. Obviously, the college rules are different. It's better baseball than nothing....

PSA: For those of us who, like me, are going to shell out 150 dollars for an MLB All-Teams Subscription, if you buy it on Amazon, you can also watch it on your MLB app on TV, or any other device. It doesn't work vice-versa. If you buy it on MLB you can't watch it on Amazon.
