I know that there are people celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk, probably some of you. If you are celebrating, take a moment to pause and think of that man's family. A wife has lost her husband and two children have lost their father
Rest in peace Charlie

This will be my one and only post about the Charlie Kirk assassination:

Anyone who would celebrate the assassination of a man, who merely debated people on ideas, is part of the problem... not the solution. There are those who accused Charlie Kirk of "divisive rhetoric".

He debated people. People who debate take opposing sides of an issue and they talk about it. Debate is, by its very nature, divisive: one must take a side on an issue.

However: resorting to assassination because one side has lost control of the conversation; or the debate isn't going their way; or their idea of the "moral high road" is rejected by an increasing number of people, is evil beyond redemption. Those people can pay all the lip service in the world to "toning down the violent rhetoric" and denouncing violence... but it's the people of that same ideology who is using violent rhetoric and committing violence.

Things are about to become very, very ugly because people have decided that murdering people is perfectly justified if that person's ideology is considered "divisive".

I'd certainly heard of Charlie Kirk now. Even my Chinese wife had heard of him, and she only reads the People's Daily and watches China Central Television News.

AFAICT he was an extreme political right Christian evangelist influencer.
