My mother gave us kids a healthy dose of her generation music. I still love the big band sounds of the late thirties and forties. Her records were 78's... just a couple of rpms faster than your parents music 🤣 We had a wind up player too. I don't think it was an Edison... maybe a Victrola, but we had a lot of Edison records.

I'm so old that the good record player didn't have a 45rpm setting and it was a nice piece of furniture. It was a record player and a tube radio with a speaker at the bottom and record storage on each side of it. I'd love to have it now.
